Job Summary


The selectee for this position will serve as a Supply Systems Analyst in the Code N6 Operations Research and System Support Directorate of NAVSUP WEAPON SYSTEMS SUPPORT.

This is a data analyst role responsible for working in conjunction with business analysts and technical teams in the implementation, use and sustainment of the SAS data analytics software.

Incumbent will be responsible for developing SAS-based analytic methodologies and products that apply data mining, statistical and other analytic techniques, as well as the continued tuning of the SAS infrastructure.

Work tasks include building data views, development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Working Instructions and training materials, conducting training sessions and assisting personnel on the use of the SAS software.

Day to day duties also include high level analysis of data, the creation of ad hoc and standard reports, data management & validation, and data exports, program validation and analytics.

GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Utilize Statistical Analysis System (SAS) software to complete job duties.

In addition, specialized experience must demonstrate at least three or more of the following: 1.) Applying functional knowledge of supply/financial business processes and operations to solve problems and to recommend solutions; 2.) Analyzing and developing recommendations for improvement in operations and objectives; 3.) Investigating and analyzing a variety of problems associated with business processes, programs or operations for enhancement and effectiveness of supply systems; 4.) Analyzing system requirements in response to business requirements, risks and costs.

-OR- Possess a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree , or LL.M., if related.

GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Utilize Statistical Analysis System (SAS) software to complete job duties.

In addition, specialized experience must demonstrate at least three or more of the following: 1.) Identifying interrelated business functional problems and recommending appropriate actions or solutions to improve Statistical Analysis System (SAS) sustainment, efficiency and effectiveness; 2.) Analyzing system design requirements to refine functional requirements for certain supply systems, such as SAS, SAP, ERP etc. ; 3.) Evaluating the feasibility of proposed system development projects using cost-benefit analysis; 4.) Developing and implementing new methods and techniques that satisfy policy and technical requirements.
