The New York Division has one of the most complex and politically sensitive transportation programs in the Nation and leads a state of practice in all aspects of transportation including innovative financing.
The Division Administrator represents FHWA in New York and works cooperatively with officials from Federal, State and local agencies, and the transportation industry in promoting technology and innovation deployment, accelerating critical infrastructure projects, and solving urban congestion, environment, and other transportation system challenges.

Demonstrated knowledge of surface transportation laws, regulations, policy, and principles involving such programs as the Federal-aid Highway Program, highway safety, transportation planning, environment, infrastructure, design and construction, contract administration, highway financing, civil rights, ITS/transportation operations, and Technology Transfer.
2. Demonstrated knowledge of the specific roles and responsibilities of Federal, State, and local agencies, and other transportation stakeholders in the conduct of surface transportation activities at all levels.EXECUTIVE CORE QUALIFICATIONS (ECQs): Below are descriptions of the executive core qualifications that will be presented to you within the online application.
