Job Summary


This position is located in the Office of Management (OM), Logistics and Acquisitions Division (LAD), Realty and Building Operations Branch (RBOB), in Washington, DC.The incumbent serves as an architect with responsibility for the development of architectural and structural phases of construction projects, plans, design specifications or estimates concerned with facility and building utilization throughout the agency.



Qualifications


To qualify for this position, you must meet one of the basic requirements and one of the additional qualification requirements listed below.BASIC REQUIREMENTDegree: architecture; or a related field that included 60 semester hours of course work in architecture or related disciplines of which at least (1) 30 semester hours were in architectural design, and (2) Six semester hours were in each of the following: structural technology, properties of materials and methods of construction, and environmental control systems.ORCombination of education and experience: college-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished: (1) a thorough knowledge of the arts and sciences underlying professional architecture, and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the architectural principles, methods, and techniques and their applications to the design and construction or improvement of buildings.

Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.

For this position, specialized experience includes: Experience providing a range of architectural concepts, principles, practices, techniques, and methods in building design and construction; preparing preliminary drawings, sketches, and construction drawings; and experience providing a broad range of architectural and construction standards, methods, practices, techniques, materials, and equipment to determine compliance with federal, state, and local codes and regulations.Interagency Career Transition Assistance Plan (ICTAP).
